A New Newsletter, Comics, Autumn/Winter Commissions Open.
The first newsletter from a new home. Some art, some life updates. A calendar illustration.
Hello all!
Apologies for the Uncharacteristicly Utilitarian look: I’ve just finished migrating newsletter platforms. I was previously using Mailchimp, I am now on Buttondown! Unfortunately I still haven’t figured out how to use Buttondown completely and style the newsletter to make it pretty. Pardon the renovations.
Heads up! Right now I am using my normal email to temporarily send my fresh new Buttondown newsletters. Future newsletters will eventually come from a “newsletter.reimenayee.com” - so whitelist that email address in your settings if you want to make sure you get my news and things.
That’s the extent of my housekeeping. I’m very excited to be using Buttondown since it’s more cost-effective… and I’ll be able to turn on the option for paid subscriptions soon. I’ve long wanted to set up a type of alternative Patreon centered around my blog/newsletter/site, and this is step ?an early step? to getting to that goal.
Anyway! Art!

🙌 Alexander Comic Update
(Book 2, Chapter 8 Page 207 - 210)
Sorry it’s a bit late - I blinked and a week flew by. A new update will drop next week.
The Alexander Comic website has upgraded too - I’ve finally left my former publisher’s hosting. There was a lot of work that had to be done to convert all of the site’s database into Wordpress and adapt the site design. But it’s done…! Well, almost. Still got a couple of aesthetic tweaks.
The Washi Station 2026 Risograph Calendar
(Order now)
I’m excited to reveal my piece for The Washi Station’s 2026 Calendar. And unsurprisingly, it’s for October!
Life Stuff
-
Part of the reason why I have been slow to update is because of some very good news: after 10 years, I got a permanent residency in Australia!!
I still can’t believe this very major stressor of my entire 20s is completely over. The reams of paperwork, the uncertainty of whether I need to uproot my home and the post-colonial grift (aka I needed to pay $300 dollars every 2 to 3 years to sit for an English test to prove my fluency. Nevermind that I am a published writer. I am from a non-Western country, despite it being a former British colony, so I must pay)… all done!
Unfortunately I’ve now been flung into a whole new series of Work to Do. Not as stressful and intense, but lots of running around and calling people nonetheless.

One month since I totally left my ex-dayjob, and I’m really enjoying it. I hadn’t actually rested this well in a long time, especially now that I don’t have to worry about my status in Australia anymore. I am starting to remember what being creative feels like: I’ve been hard at work thumbnailing and inking Alex Comic, doing art for clients, reading…
I am still lugged down by physical fatigue, but mentally and spiritually I’m recovering.
That’s it from me today! I will return next week to announce the upcoming Alexander Comic update, then talk more about the books I read and am reading.
Remember to whitelist “newsletter.reimenayee.com” so you can keep receiving my future newsletters!
