RedMonk November 2026 Update

A silhouetted bare tree stands on a shoreline against a golden sunset sky, with calm lake water and a distant treeline stretching across the horizon.

Hi All,

Steve here. Somewhat incredibly, the calendar says it’s November. The leaves - or lacktherof here in Maine - agree. And that of course means that while it might be past peak for foliage, we’re well into peak conference season. Kubecon looms next week, and Rachel and I will be in attendance. We won’t be doing official RedMonk Beers at the event, but we’re likely to get together somewhere casually so if you’d like to catch us, make sure you’re on our event mailing list here. That will be your best and maybe only opportunity to see us, for better and for worse, because our schedules are absolutely packed with something like twenty meetings over two and a half days. My calendar is the busiest, I think, since the last days of the dearly departed OSCON.

A bit further out is reInvent, meanwhile, and while I can’t make it this year for family reasons my three colleagues will be there and will almost certainly be similarly overloaded calendar-wise.

In between those two events is Thanksgiving here in the United States, and aside from the opportunity to step back and enjoy the holiday with family, it’s nice to have something to be thankful about in the wider world for what seems like the first time in a long time. It’s been a tumultuous period and there are undoubtedly more choppy waters ahead, but here’s hoping that the months, quarters and years ahead become a little less frantic, a little less fraught and a lot more peaceful.

That would be something to truly be thankful for.

For those of you we’ll see next week at Kubecon, we look forward to it, and for everyone else we’ll hope to see you somewhere in person soon as peak conference season winds down as the foliage did before it.
