ReApply - January 2026 Newsletter
Happy New Year!
If you're job searching in January, you're actually in a good spot. Companies have new budgets, hiring plans that were on hold are now active, and there's generally more momentum in the job market than December's ghost town.
This month I want to tell you about FitCheck—a new tool I've been working on that's now officially live.
What's New: FitCheck is Live
FitCheck is a Chrome extension that gives you instant fit scores when you're browsing job postings.
Here's the idea: before you spend 2 hours crafting an application, wouldn't you want to know if you're actually a good fit? FitCheck tells you in about 15 seconds. You get a 0-100 score, your top matching qualifications, and your biggest gaps—honest feedback to help you prioritize your time.
How it works for different users:
- FitCheck users: 10 free checks per month, buy more if you need them
- ReApply users: If you've purchased credits, you get unlimited FitCheck. If you are using free credits, 100 FitChecks to try it out.
Here's a quick video showing how FitCheck works and how to get started.

Quick Tip: January Hiring Surge
January is one of the best months to job search. Here's why and how to take advantage:
Why January works: New fiscal year budgets are approved, roles that were "on hold" get greenlit, and hiring managers return from holiday with fresh energy and open headcount.
What to do: Don't wait until mid-January. The best time to apply is the first two weeks of the month, before the surge of applications from everyone else who made "new job" their New Year's resolution.
That's it for January. If you have questions or feedback, just reply to this email—I read everything.
Here's to a good year.
