This week's reality TV premieres: July 5 to 11, 2021
Dear newsletter subscribers,
Four of reality TV's biggest and most extensive summer premieres all arrive this week: Big Brother 23 and Love Island start their marathon runs, with multiple episodes of each show airing every week, while National Geographic's Sharkfest kicks off Monday and Shark Week starts next Sunday.
Sharkfest will last for six weeks and span NatGeo, NatGeo WILD, and Disney+, and has "21 hours of new premieres, 60 hours of enhanced content and a treasure trove of archival footage," according to NatGeo. In other words: lots of reruns. I tried to find a schedule on NatGeo's site to link to, but found this; instead, here's a press release with dates and times.
Sharkfest opens with Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth (NatGeo, Monday, July 5, at 9), on which the actor known best for playing Thor "embarks on a personal mission to investigate how we can live more harmoniously with sharks," NatGeo says.
