More ridiculousness from MTV, The Traitors, Survivor, and yet another reality TV star indicted for crimes

Dear newsletter friends,

Over the past week, my husband I traveled to The Netherlands, home of Endemol, which has given us reality TV from Big Brother to The Traitors.

But it wasn't a work trip, so we just walked along the canals of Amsterdam, looked at art, and photographed blooming tulips.

As much as I love reality TV and the Internet, the past three years made it clear that I desperately need some time away from them, too!

Before I left, I:

  • Interviewed Jill from Outlast, and I'm curious about your thoughts about her thoughts

And through the magic of scheduling, I answered these questions:

  • Why does MTV air so much Ridiculousness?

  • When will The Traitors UK and US return?

  • Why did TWO people leave The Traitors US castle?

💬 Comments of the week

A man in a suit making a face and then clapping his hand

I thought Rodger was the weakest of all 3 hosts. His poking fun at the process seemed to stop the contestants from totally buying in to the game which in turn stopped me a viewer from totally buying in.

—Grace, on this Traitors Australia review

I think Probst was right, he did get injured playing the game. The moment they get off the boats, the game of Survivor begins. He didn’t get injured playing in a challenge, but he was playing the game.

—Chuck, on this Survivor 44 recap

🤩 I recommend

  • This season, which may have the best game of the three

  • This show, but only if you like Alaska survival competitions

  • This episode, with Daniel Radcliffe

🔮 Coming soon:

  • A review of Jury Duty, which is basically an attempt at The Joe Schmo Show

  • Top Chef recaps

I hope you have a fantastic rest of your week and terrific weekend!

best,
Andy
