New year, new home page, new cooking competitions, new Tough As Nails, new Drag Race network, and more!
Dear newsletter friends,
Happy New Year! I hope it's been a fantastic start to the year for you so far.
After some wonderful time with family, I spent the week between Christmas and New Year's Day—one of my favorite times of year—working on a refresh of reality blurred’s home page, based on your feedback.
You can read more about all the exciting changes, or just take a look for yourself!
And of course, I've been writing a lot, too. So, let's get to that.
Reviews and a recap
I reviewed:
Netflix's new cooking competition Pressure Cooker, which combines Big Brother with Top Chef
Food Network's Bake It ‘Til You Make It and Chef Dynasty: House of Fang, which both take the network in an exciting new direction
I recapped:
Answers and this week
I answered:
Is Love Island unique among all reality TV?
This week:
Before Fox's new show, I gathered 7 incredible and hilarious ways Mel B. described it. 😂
RuPaul's Drag Race changes networks tonight
🤩 I recommend
This Netflix show, if you want a better version of Big Brother, but not if you want a Top Chef
Bake It 'Til You Make It, which is basically Food Network's Best in Show
This show, which streams free and is being rebroadcast starting tonight
My Retro TVs, which are oddly soothing
Coming up next week: coverage of Peacock's The Traitors. I can't wait to talk with y'all about that! Have a terrific weekend.
best,
Andy
🌄 This is issue 320 of reality blurred’s weekly newsletter, first sent 6 January 2023, and it has dropped Reality in Focus as its name, because that was unnecessary brand confusion!
