Why you should watch
Happy Thanksgiving!
In the U.S., today’s a day famous for ignoring history and over-eating, so I thought I’d overstuff this with two shows—and they are both just specials, so 40 minutes each.
Both are from 2019, though I don’t think I watched either then.
Macy's Thanksgiving Cake Spectacular brings four cake artists to create massive cakes inspired by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Martha Stewart hosts and Buddy Valastro judges.
Thanksgiving Grubdown came five years ahead of Carla Hall’s great Chasing Flavor series, and finds her visiting restaurants that are making particularly creative versions of fall and Thanksgiving classics.
You kinda know what you’re going to get with both shows: cake artists and Martha Stewart doing their thing, Carla Hall being charming and exuberant as she asks questions and tastes.
Both might make for good background TV while making a Thanksgiving day meal, or recovering from it, or skipping one entirely and just staying on your couch.
Hope they add to your day. And thanks for being on this list and watching along with me all year round!
