Tuesday Letter #4 - Dalio Wisdom, The Art of Deal Making, and Learning in Public
Happy Tuesday, happy June!
This month is off to a great start. I have been writing more consistently. I have put a new productivity system in place (Mixture od Asana and Google Sheets). The system is based on Nat Eliason’s post on productivity. The next step is to implement the earlier bed rise and more exercise.
Hope you enjoy this week’s “Tuesday Letter” :)
📜 Quotes from Readwise
…you can significantly raise your probabilities of making the right decisions by open-mindedly triangulating with believable people. Principles by Ray Dalio
Working with people you respect and know are knowledgable is crucial for success.
More than anything else, what differentiates people who live up to their potential from those who don’t is their willingness to look at themselves and others objectively and understand the root causes standing in their way. Principles by Ray Dalio
Internally I understand that this is an absolute truth, but looking at yourself is hard. I found that journaling can help with digging deep into one’s mind.
I read “Principles” a while back. Almost all the quotes I receive in Readwise are fantastic. I know for sure I will be giving it a read sometime soon. I can’t recommend it enough.

😁️ Person of the Week
I ran into a couple of problems with Azure at work. Colin’s blog was a lifesaver, especially a post on Azure Pipeline Variables.

Start by asking to put something on the table first
- You are an expert, you did it a million times.
- This opens up an opportunity to flinch, make a “painful” face as if to say, ooh, that’s too much/little.
- this can be mimicked by pause.... then wait.... (waiting is the hardest), then

Learn in Public - I come back to this post once in a while. I understand the importance of working in public but don’t do it regularly. Here, swyx does a great job describing how to actually learn in public in a very inspiring way.
🍪 Recipe I Perfected
Chocolate Chip Cookies
The original recipe is from America’s Test Kitchen. The steps are the same, the only thing I changed are the ingredients to make the cookies way less sweet, and as a consequence a little more healthy.
Step 1)
- 0.15 cups of packed brown sugar (33g)
- 0.1 cups of granulated sugar (20g)
- 12 cups of butter (180g)
- 1 egg , 1 egg yolk
Step 2)
- 218 grams of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Step 3)
- 100g Chocolate chip
- Handful of Walnut (toasted)
