The Moments That Shaped You

No one cared if I did nothing.

There’s a recurring theme in the last year of writing. I keep finding moments from long ago (usually riding the bike) that were formative. First, it was Chuck and his unfailing helpfulness, and this week, it’s the moment that I decided in the face of impending mediocrity that I’d work to be exceptional.

What is intriguing to me about these discoveries is how little I think about the story but how I constantly think of and apply the lessons. It’s frequently.

And I’m eager to find more of these definitive moments.
