I/O: My DMR Radio is Coming!
If you are getting tired of AllStar posts, stay tuned for DMR radio articles
This is a short in-and-out post, aka an I/O. It seems that as I have focused some energy on AllStar, some subscribers have decided to unsubscribe. I’m sorry to see them go. Perhaps I’ve not been providing enough “real radio” for subscribers, so this post is a gentle teaser that more radio posts are coming. If you are getting tired of posts about AllStar, a change is in the wind.
I have an AnyTone AT-D878UVII Plus radio on the way. A good review of this radio is available on the The VoIP Hub.
I also bought a hot spot to extend the capabilities of the handheld radio. (The box in the image does not contain the radio at the moment. I sent the radio back to the vendor for programming with the hotspot.)
The new radio and hotspot will continue my exploration of digital mobile radio (DMR). Previous RandomWire posts on DMR include one about a Radioddity GD-73 handheld and Getting Started with DMR.
I joined the PNWDigital group (website and Facebook) and my cousin-in-law — who is experienced in digital radio — is willing to help me learn.
If you were getting a bit tired of my focus on AllStar, get ready for DMR radio!
