The Queer Country Holiday Gift Guide
Hey there, cowpokes! ‘Tis the season, and you are probably trying to find some gifts for your favorite people — or, after looking at this list, a little stocking stuffer for yourself. Rainbow Rodeo doesn’t get a cut of any of these purchases — these are all from Rachel’s trawling the Internet as well as helpful people across our various social media channels. Thank you very much to everyone who submitted items to this list!
I know it's bad practice to send people to another web page, but it took me like two hours to format this article and I fear for how long it would take to embed photos in this e-mail, so if you want to see pictures of all of the merch, you can go here. Otherwise, I'll list off some great stuff below!
Note: For some reason this did not go out last week! Sorry for Hanukkah gifters but maybe there's still time for the 8th night if you get rushed shipping. I'll be back tomorrow with our year-end poll!
Zines and Journals
I mean — we gotta plug our own shit. You can now purchase issue 3 of Rainbow Rodeo in color, black and white, and electronically!
Our friends at Mergoat put out consistently amazing zines about life in Appalachia, but one reader pointed us to their Transecologies issue.
Qulyn offers this gay agenda for the busy queers in your life.
Art
DM Vince on Instagram to get a copy of this "Save a Hourse Ride a Cowgirl" print for only $7!
Pins and Totes
In another life Rachel makes comics and sells pins. You can check out the “Don’t Tread on Me” pin and some other stuff right here.
Reb’s Rainbow Haus has pins, bolo ties, stickers, and anything you can imagine — but this “Country Music Made Me Gay” pin kicks ass.
Smile Cult wants you to wear your heart on your tote bag.
Hats
Madeleine Kelson speaks the truth: “God has never loved a woman the way I do.” (Check the link for more great merch.)
Holly Cinnamon celebrates her small-town pride with this cute trucker hat (multiple colors available!) She’s got some other great stuff at her Female Gayze merch store.
Chris Housman’s fantastic “Redneck Blueneck” continues to reverbate — and he’s captured the song on some great merch. We’re highlighting this hat because we like the color contrast.
Bandanas
Tina and Her Pony want to keep you fresh and clean with this Marigolds bandana — and 100% of the proceeds go to her since it’s Bandcamp Friday!
Bonnie and the Mere Mortals offer some pretty sweet bandanas and t-shirts on their store, but we’re partial to this “Queer Mortals” hanky.
T-Shirts
Cunntry Legends declares: “George Strait But I Ain’t“
Kinship Goods kills it with their “Country Queers Can Survive” shirt.
No queer country gift list would be complete without Sweet Cowboy Blues. The UK-based artist prints shirts in limited batches, so be sure to check the website for updates!
Celebrate our Genrequeer Pride with Dillybilly’s t-shirt (multiple colors available.)
Secret Emchy Society fulfills all your bear needs (well, almost all.)
Conway Titty has a number of designs and products but we like this “Cowboys Make Me Horny” shirt.
Make sure you get your own version of Eli Conley’s striking “I Love Trans Folks With All My Being” t-shirt — all proceeds will go to Eli since it’s Bandcamp Friday!
Bryan Ruby’s “Baseball Country” t-shirt is ideal for the queer baseball fan in your life (there are dozens of us!!!)
Amy Martin just might win this t-shirt contest with her “Country music made me gay” t-shirt.
Not much more to say than this: Jaime Wyatt’s cowgirl lap dance sweatshirt. (There’s also t-shirts, shorts, and all kinds of other great stuff.)
Equality TX could use a boost with this cute t-shirt.
Montana Sand brings it with their sweet and simple t-shirt design.
