Cartoons for the Moon: Volume 2

February 2024

Some of you probably already know this, but I have three dogs. Dogs are like toddlers except they don’t speak human language, so I like to come up with lore about my furry friends. For example, Kos sounds like she has been smoking for 90 years when she talks, all the dogs in the neighborhood talk about how Ellie is the Mensa dog - but Ellie isn't very smart and she says she scammed her way in, and Frank is an angel from heaven who fell down something called “The Heaven Tree” and landed in my arms (that’s how I got him). Anyone else do this? No? Just me?

I realize this is bizarre, but as someone who works from home and barely ever leaves the house, I have to come up with some sort of free entertainment for myself. Some of the latest lore is that my dogs have a dog phone. I don’t know how they got it or what they’re using it for and they won’t tell me.

I hope you enjoy, and happy full moon.

xo,

rabidya

Caption at the top reads "Cartoons for the moon by rabidya" "The Dog Phone". Four panels. Panel 1: Frank sleeping on a blanket and a phone on the table behind him is buzzing. Panel 2: Frank sleepy but waking up with an exclamation point above his head. Speech bubble says, "New message on the dog phone...". Panel 3: Dog paw holding a cell phone. The message is from Ellie. It says "i have too words 4 u, fwanklin..." and the next text bubble shows that she is typing. Panel 4: Close up of the phone and messages. Messages say, "i have too words 4 u fwanklin..." and "never made it as a wyze man!"
Frank got a new message on the dog phone. Ellie doesn’t know how to spell.

Sorry, but I’ve had this stupid Nickelback song stuck in my head for like a month.

Yes, these are from Valentine's Day, but I had covid and didn't have a lot of drawing time. But hey, you can use them next year! rabidya art is timeless.
