I'm moving to Substack!

Dear community,

I am writing today to share an important announcement. After considerable thought and reflection, I am moving my newsletter to Substack. This was not an easy decision and indeed is a highly imperfect one. After more than four years on Patreon and many months using Buttondown, I have determined that Substack will allow me to reach the widest possible audience of folks interested in my work in the world.

As a screen reader user, it has been my experience that accessibility of platforms used by independent creatives has been getting steadily worse over time. There is no perfect platform. Substack is no exception. As someone committed to maximal accessibility, I intend to ensure that my content is easily accessible to all, including screen reader users. Though these platforms are imperfect, I am working as best as I can with what I have. Your support not only allows me to continue my offerings but also sends an important message in these times that disabled creators and voices truly do matter. Thank you.

A note on content:

Substack will be the home for both free and paid content. If you choose to subscribe for free offerings only, you will receive links to register for public teachings as well as links to the recordings when available. These will show up in your feed more frequently instead of being batched in a single newsletter.

If you choose to join the community as a paid member, you will receive all of the content above as well as members-only teachings in written and audio form. I intend to start with written form only while I seek support for transcription to ensure maximal accessibility to my teachings. There will be a single monthly and annual tier for membership as well as the ability to become a founding member.

If you are a current subscriber on Patreon or Buttondown, we will ensure a smooth and seamless transition. You won’t need to do anything and will be automatically moved to Substack. You are of course free to unsubscribe at any time.

My community truly is the backbone of my work and I would not be able to do this work without your generosity and support. I hope this move will allow for greater ease and sustainability.

Thank you again.
