🪶 Convert your Craft docs to websites
Hello everyone.
I'm Eunjae Lee. Thanks for subscribing to this newsletter.
I'm very excited to work on this project, Quill, to let you convert your Craft docs to websites. Just like you, I've been enjoying Craft app. Although it's their early stage, the app is already mature and provides a good writing experience.
When we create websites, we need a good editor. It can be WordPress, Ghost, Wix, SquareSpace, etc. They're all something you need to learn and they have their own editors. If you're already used to writing docs in Craft, then let's write websites with Craft, not with another tool.
The project is just being started. I will share with you the roadmap soon. One thing I can tell you is that it is not going to be a fully customizable WYSIWYG or drag&drop -type of tool. It's going to let you deploy new posts with minimum interactions. It will also provide some plugins which will enable features like a subscription box, member-only pages, etc.
Bonus, are you a software developer? Are you curious to know how I'm building Quill? Then you can SUBSCRIBE the DEV newsletter. I'm going to share with you all the details, from how I chose tech stacks to what kind of technical challenges I'm facing. Not only technical aspects but also business aspects will be shared with you, including reasons behind some of my decisions. I'm looking forward to sharing these with you.
Lastly, can I ask you a quick question? What type of website would you like to build?
- Blog
- Landing page
- Blog or content with a paywall
- Static website with menus and pages
- or something else?
Feel free to reply to me with a number. Of course, you can share with me more if you want.
Thanks 🙂
