Get Your Car Looking Great and Learn a Little about Ohio at the Question Mark Car Wash!

The ghosts of Neil Armstrong, Dean Martin, and Cy Young.
As the end of summer rolls around, all of us at the Question Mark Car Wash want to invite you to give your vehicle a thorough cleaning while enjoying some lively historical information about your home state. That’s why we’re offering an End of Summer Sale with two dollars off your first wash.
We recognize just how much your vehicle means to you and will treat it with the utmost respect, the same respect we give to Ohio’s unbelievably true history. Did you know Steven Spielberg was born here? It sounds unbelievable but it’s a fact! Annie Oakley and Bob Hope too! Enjoy learning about Ohio while our attendants, dressed in historically-accurate costumes of the state's famous ghosts, are taking care of your car.
Plus, if you can name at least two Presidents who hailed from the great state of Ohio you’ll get your first wash free!
Also: Love Ohio? Love making things clean? We're hiring attendants. Previous experience unnecessary, just be sure you have no aversion to water and a curious mind! Stop by to apply.

Updates from my research trip for a book about cults in Ohio

The Horse Queen outside Columbus, Ohio.
As some of you may or may not know, I have been traveling across Ohio recently searching for the truth regarding cults in Ohio with my nephew, Trevor, who, as it has been noted, has a number of challenges of his own.
As Trevor is still a young man I will not further disparage him. But take it from me, what I am learning about cults that are active in the region and what I am learning about Trevor is equally disturbing and fascinating.
If you have any interest in the world of arcane beliefs around you and also some of its dangers, please consult my website where I am regularly updating my research. If not, I am sorry for this interruption.
As the Blood Sisters cult in Elyria says, “May your path be littered with the bodies of your enemies.”

Visit the Infinite Circle Burial Mound and learn about this town’s past, present, and future

As part of the University of Ohio’s continued engagement with the town of Question Mark, I will be exploring previously-excavated sections of the Infinite Circle, which is the oldest monument in the town of Question Mark.
As a graduate student in archeology and member of the Ottawa tribe, it is a privilege to be able to engage with this one-of-a-kind earthwork and learn as much as I can about this unbelievable creation in order to uncover the Hopewell’s rich history. Truly it is an opportunity to communicate with the past and discover the secrets of a complicated civilization.
Although very few residents seem to know the incredible history of the Infinite Circle or the Hopewell people, there is much to appreciate. To that end, and in conjunction with Ohio Historic Sites, I will be conducting tours the second and fourth Saturdays in the months of September and October, beginning at 1pm.
I hope all of you can join me.
Third grade field trip form due tomorrow
To all parents and caregivers, please remember to fill out the field trip form for third graders for the upcoming visit to the Question Mark Public Library where students will learn about the exciting, improbable history of this town and region.
For instance, did you know an entire civilization flourished here for hundreds of years before mysteriously disappearing? Did you know the woods were home to one of Ohio’s first French colonies? Did you also know the town was actually one of the first stops on the Underground Railroad? Unbelievably, each of these are true. In Question Mark, the past is truly alive all around us.
In order to better appreciate how this town has been shaped by history, students will create an erasure poem of their own, using text found in the library. Please go to the Learning Materials page on my classroom site, fill out the waiver from the Question Mark Public Library in the Permission Slip and Waivers folder, and then please return it to me via email before Monday, September 11, 2023.
You can always investigate other upcoming assignments, news, and events on the classroom homepage.

Community Notes
Hello, fellow amateur kite fighting enthusiasts and other folks in town.
As many of you know, we lost Buck Walters last December. This week his missing will was discovered, hidden in some kind of code on several local websites, so it looks like Buck got the last laugh!
Although technically, he died while working on a prank called the Disappearing Box and so, now that I think about it, that was probably his actual last laugh but who is keeping score? To be honest, I am. I am 0-1 when it comes to good friends named Buck.
He and I had a long history together and, in addition to being a friend and trusted confidante, he helped support the Amatuer Kitefighting Club with a generous sponsorship of miles of glass-coated string. Why did he have so much glass-coated string? You just never knew with Buck.
Buck’s recovered will states that almost all of his amazing muscle cars will be donated to this Friday’s car auction while three particular cars will feature as part of a one-of-a-kind contest. Contestants must keep their hand or a part of their body on the car of their choice for as long as humanly possible. As Buck’s will, the individual who holds on to their dream car the longest will receive the vehicle and its title.
The contest begins at 7pm in the Community Center parking lot and will continue until one individual remains upright. I am very much looking forward to judging this battle of the wills. My advice: no wimps, no crying. Unless it is for Buck.
