Question Mark Town Roundup for the week of 5/8-5/14
Town Announcements
Two strange cats are hiding in my garden right now.
I don’t know who they are or what it is they think they are doing. "Lurking" is probably how I would describe it, I suppose.
One is a white cat, that much I know. The other one of them might be tiger-striped. Or black. Probably black. It’s hard to tell. It's hiding in the shade of my hosta.
I do not feel comfortable around these cats or, really, any cats. But these in particular. I would like them gone. I need to do my weeding.

Recovered a collar in the woods. Tag reads "Mr. Business."
I know the chief doesn't like us posting official police business in the Town Announcements but I found a cat’s collar just now out in the woods, in a little clearing a few hundred yards from British Soldier Field.
Tag reads "Mr. Business." Another tag just a small plastic heart, cracked. Cat was nowhere to be seen.
Could be dead.
Probably dead.
But no proof, so who knows?
80s Hard Rock Record Enthusiast Meet-up probably canceled today.

Community Notes
Over the past several weeks, our town has faced a number of disappointments and disappearances. Believe me, I know firsthand what loss and grief feel like and how empty, how lonely you can feel when someone or something you love and rely on suddenly vanishes from your life. Maybe it was a pet, or a beloved object, or in my case, Bill, my husband of fourteen years.
But the Question Mark Public Library can help. We offer community events, classes, free internet, and most of all a sense of order in a world that can sometimes seem harsh and chaotic. This month's Librarian's Bookshelf features a collection of very sad books which will give you the opportunity to confront some of these challenges through the beauty of language and imagination.

Did You Know?
Town founder, Reginald Willey, dreamed of creating his own language for the town of Question Mark, combining English, French, and Latin into what he called Americanesque. He published an encyclopedia and later a town history in this fascinating language, both of which are on display at the town library!
