Why were YOU not at last night's concert?

Last night’s concert was life-changing and life-affirming. Too bad more people couldn’t attend.

With all the talk about more opportunities for community and cultural events, one would THINK having an award-winning cello player, our own Nanako Yakamoto, perform for the ENTIRE town would be more important than whatever it is other people were doing.

Disappointing.

Question Mark Elementary presents “Our Town” May 7

a set on a stage, still being constructed. two wooden ladders lead up to a small balcony, a table with chairs is on the ground. the backdrop is wooden and painted slightly green. this seems very ambitious for children.

I am aware we’ve been having a lot of plays recently, but the children have been working so hard on their adaptation of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" and I believe this one will be really amazing, and almost certainly will go better than the last one.

The themes of Our Town—the transience of life and how we should live in the present moment—have resonated with the children of late, especially after yesterday's disappearance of Boo-boo, our classroom hamster.

I hope everyone will please come. As a new teacher and someone still getting to know this town, it would be really nice to meet some of the parents.

If you have any questions about this or any other upcoming assignments, you can always visit our third grade class site.

I need your help!

a photograph of three flyers stapled to a telephone poll. The flyers are bright orange and green and read MR BUSINESS IS MISSING with a poorly photocopied picture of a cat. Then they say 'any information call (740) 647-4807' and 'possibly the smartest cat in the world' and 'for more info questionmark.town' and finally LAST SEEN IN QUESTION MARK OHIO.

My neighbor’s cat Mr. Business is still missing. I feel like we are so close to finding him. We have looked behind the alley at the envelope factory, by British Soldier Field, at the old tannery, and by the woods. Yesterday I think I saw him at the ruined playground, but he ran off.

Mr. Business is probably the smartest cat in the world. Any clue would help at this point.

I’ve made a flyer you could use. Or you could make your own. Could you please hang them up around your neighborhood?

Please take a picture and @ me with it so I know what parts of town are covered.

Thank you so much for letting everyone know.

Community Notes

Thank you everyone who was in attendance last evening for the 3rd and 4th grade performance of Our Town. Although we were sad classmate Terry Quinn was unable to attend due to his suspension, Gary Dublowski stole the show as the Stage Manager and all the children performed remarkably considering what happened with the stage. Luckily no one was hurt. And the fact that they managed to finish with such enthusiasm was a feat in itself, although I had hoped more parents would have come.
