β Favourite architecture studios of 2021 (I can explain!)
Hi folks, happy Sunday! π If I had to put a figure to it, I'd guess that probably 80% of all my non-work internet browsing time is spent looking at beautiful spaces and learning about the studios that design them.
That's the small bit of context behind the newest note on the website, which lists my 16 favourite architecture studios of 2021, and what they taught me about shaping space.

I only got around to writing this up in 2023, an entire year later than intended, but since the site acts as a kind of archive, I thought it was still worth publishing, even if only for myself. Here's the 2020 edition of this list.

Here's a parting gift before I sign off: look at this delicious coffee nook area by interior decorator Drew Scott (aka. Lone Fox)!
Drew has been sharing the journey of renovating his new home in California over the last several months, and I'm OBSESSED with his kitchen. The rich chocolate brown of the cabinetry, the deep veining in the marble countertop that rises up as a backsplash, the brass and copper accents, the tumbled travertine tiles...the whole thing is such a delicious explosion of moody textures and colours π€€ You can watch all the videos of the renovation via this YouTube playlist, and see more photos of the project on Drew's Instagram.
Love,
Emmanuel
