Traits That May Cease to Be Valuable
Hey there - we just published a new essay.
The idea is this: imagine for a moment that there was a role playing game (like D&D or Skyrim) that covered all of human history. Now let’s say you were going to create a character around the time Jesus died.
You might pick some traits you think give you leverage for that period in history (athleticism, literacy, social class, and so on). How many of those traits would be the same if you changed the game’s time period to 2025?
A few might be similar, but most would be completely different. That’s because the world has changed.
Since the world is going to keep changing, we wrote an essay with predictions about: 1. Traits that may become less valuable in the future and 2. Traits that may become more valuable.
