I Literally Don't Know

Hey there - we just published a new essay.

Is general life advice useful?

It’s not uncommon for people to email strangers they look up to and ask for life advice. Or ask to jump on a call so they can do some brain-picking. But is it helpful?

We’d argue that most people (ourselves included!) literally don’t know the answers. And that asking someone to pick their brain, or asking for their thoughts on the general direction of your life, won’t be very productive for you.

This essay is both for people who get asked for general life advice and for the people who ask for general life advice. We hope it’s helpful or, at least, interesting.

You can read it here.
