How to Not Suck at Your Job

Hey there - we just published a new piece.

Here’s a take: Most tech companies would run more effectively (i.e. earn more long-term profit) if, tomorrow, they humanely fired the majority of their team.

Our new essay doesn’t try to convince you of this take. Instead, it’s a list of things we think you could do to increase the value you add at work. In other words, a list of things it would take to not get fired in the unlikely scenario that every company in the world decided to listen to us.

Even the first 3 items on this list would probably eliminate 90% of people at most companies.

Read the list here.

Reply to this email if you have feedback or additional ideas you think should be on the list.

Cheers,

- Carter and Jordan

P.S. We also think that sucking at your ‘job’ is a totally reasonable life strategy. You don’t have to want to do any of the things on the list.
