Hi there - we just published a new essay.

This is a weirder sort of piece, and maybe it’s best we don’t add much context before you read it. It will probably land best if you are familiar with Substack as a platform.

You can read this week’s essay-story here.

If writing about Substack doesn’t sound interesting, you could visit (or revisit) one of these older favorites:

• The Fishing Contest

• But Did They Win?

• Human

And finally, as August comes to a close, we have a specific question for you this week: what is the best thing you have read this summer? Reply to this email and let us know - we’d love your recs.

Until next week,

- Carter and Jordan

p.s. we are sending from a new domain this week, so if this email lands in your Promotion or Spam folders, etc., drag it to your primary inbox! :)
