A few quick announcements that aren't quite PyBeach related, but are probably relevant if you're subscribed here and live in the Los Angeles area.

First, PyCon US is happening at the Long Beach Convention Center this year! (May 13-19) Note that the deadline for financial aid applications is February 25th, 2026 (they're listed as "Travel Grants", but it also includes simply requesting a complimentary ticket).

Second, SCaLE (the Southern California Linux Expo) is happening March 5-8 at the Pasadena Convention Center. Use discount code PYPY to receive 50% off the regular priced ticket. We'll be there jointly hosting a booth with the Python Software Foundation and SoCal Python.

Speaking of which, we would like to cross-promote SoCal Python, which hosts in-person gatherings on a (mostly) monthly basis for members of the Los Angeles area Python community to meet, socialize, and network (yes, we understand that the name is a bit of a misnomer since LA only includes a small part of SoCal!). Please consider subscribing to their newly minted newsletter for news about upcoming meetups. You can also check out their MeetUp or Luma pages to RSVP to events, or follow their Mastodon (its mostly all the same information)!
