February Comes Early!

February's Pugsteady Update!

Hey all! This is an early and short newsletter this month, for two reasons. The first is that I make my one-way trip to the UK next week, so I’ll be busy prepping for that and getting settled in. And the other reason is because the Realms of Pugmire Kickstarter went live yesterday!

At the time I’m writing this we’re only a few thousand dollars away from funding, and it’s just less than 24 hours. I was really hoping we’d completely fund in a day, but in the end funding is all that matters. And the new book is already looking great! Here’s a mockup of the cover (not final):

Want to know more? There are already lots of resources!

  • On the Onyx Pathcast, I talk at length about the Realms of Pugmire.

  • I did a series of design blogs at the Onyx Path website, including:

    • New Doesn’t Replace Old

    • What’s New?

    • Core Rules Changes

    • Years Later

    • Random Doggo

  • I did a series of design diary videos as well on the Onyx Path YouTube channel.

  • Geek Native and ICv2 both posted about the Kickstarter.

  • The great folks at the Saving Throw Show did an interview with me about Realms of Pugmire.

  • I ran a playtest for the folks at Red Moon Roleplaying.

  • Another playtest of the new rules (“A Ball to Die For”) is also happening on the Onyx Path Twitch channel (archived to YouTube).

  • My friends at Extra Credits are doing shorts about historical good dogs every week during the Kickstarter. Here’s the first one about Greyfrier Bobby.

This is a really important campaign to me, because how well this does will help shape the future of Pugmire as a whole. So if you are able to spend a few dollars on this, I’d really appreciate it.

I’ve got a lot of work and prep to do, so I’ll leave it there. See you all in March (and in a new time zone)!
