Cover Craziness
Hi everyone,
I’m here with a small update. I’ve been working on a Secret Project for a little bit now and I have no idea when I’m going to get to announce it and yes it has to do with that picture from my last email to you all, but my writing progress came to a screeching halt this week because I was inundated with emails from my various publishers somehow all about covers and for once I can share at least some of it with you (the rest will have to remain secret for a little longer!)
Most of you probably know that I also write under the pen name Jennifer Hennessy (Hennessy in honor of my mom’s side of the family and not the cognac, but, same spelling, so maybe I’m an long lost heir?). Last year my debut adult romcom DEGREES OF ENGAGEMENT came out. That book absolutely saved me when FINDING HER EDGE’s option book was declined way back in 2022 and we weren’t able to sell another young adult novel thanks to lackluster sales (if only the Jen from then could see me now!). This newsletter is called Publish. Pivot. Persevere. for a reason and I had to pivot and pivot hard. I was so thrilled when we sold it to Headline Eternal, a Hachette romance imprint in a two book deal and now the second book is coming out this June and since the cover is live and is set to be revealed tomorrow morning, I don’t have any compunction sharing it with you now.
It’s called FOR THE RING and it is the baseball romance of my dreams starring a no nonsense analyst and a grumpy former catcher turned manager featuring workplace rivals to lovers, there’s only one bed, Moneyball, but make it a rom-com. After all, how can you not be romantic about baseball.
And without further ado, here it is and I’m completely in love with it.
