June 14th Special Service @ St. Iakovos (Valpo)

PTVM Young Adults
Dear PTVM Orthodox Young Adults,
For those who are interested in attending a unique service and supporting another local parish:
On Saturday, June 14th, you’re welcome to join the PTVM young adults who will be attending the Thyranoixia Service and Hierarchical Great Vespers at St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church (36 W 700 N, Valparaiso, IN) (Google Maps). We'll plan to arrive there around 3:30 PM, with the service starting at 4:00 PM.
What is the Thyranoixia? “Thyranoixia” (Greek for “opening of the doors”) is the dedication of a church upon its completion. It's a significant and joyous occasion where the bishop performs the blessing ceremony and offers prayers for the new building. This service is a prelude to the consecration of the church. Essentially, it marks the official opening and blessing of their beautiful new church building.
Following the service, we'll head to La Cabaña (807 E Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN) for dinner (Google Maps). Please note that each person will be responsible for their own meal cost.
We're looking forward to this opportunity to worship together and enjoy fellowship afterward.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me (see below).
In Christ,
Mike Degan
