Live (and streaming) at Monks this Saturday; news from the spring
A lot’s happened since our last newsletter, and we’ve enjoyed being more active in 2025 than we’ve been since that pesky pandemic turned our world upside-down! For starters, we’ve been developing a stack of new music that’ll be recorded this October in Austin, and you can hear some of it this Saturday, June 7, at Monks Jazz Club in Austin. There are still some in-person tickets available for our Austin folks, but for those elsewhere around the world, Monks’ livestream quality is always top-tier. A livestream ticket gives you perpetual access to the video, too, in case you want to take a red pencil to any of the notes we get wrong.
In late March, we thoroughly enjoyed heading up to beautiful Boise, Idaho for a concert at the Gene Harris Jazz Festival (part of Treefort Music Fest) and a clinic for the music students at Boise State University. Our dear friend Bryan Ladd joined us on bass, filling out a configuration of Progger that hadn’t happened in a good long time! Dr. Derek Ganong is doing some awesome things with the BSU jazz program and we can’t thank him enough for orchestrating our trip. Our good friend Eleonora Kouneni took some fantastic photos that you’ll see around social media, too.

We’re slated to record Album Number Five at one of Austin’s finest recording studios this October, and we’ll be flying in some of our extended Progger family from the past years as well as welcoming a some new-to-Progger-records guests. It’s gonna be an epic fusion family reunion, and mountains of thanks to the Austin Live Music Fund for making it possible. I can’t wait to share this new music with the world. In the meantime, check out a show or a livestream to get teasers of the new music, we’ll be introducing more and more over the next few months.
Much love to one and all from the ProggerSquad!
