Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #62

Summary (7/30/2025)

🖋️IN SHORT: EXCLAMATION POINT comix reading tonight in Philly. No meeting on Aug 6; plein air meeting Aug 20. Aug 2 is lock-in day for anthology submissions at The Gravity Vault. 3 “conventions” coming up: yART sale, Wellsboro, and ANYC. ACP Sketchbook Club sales are live. Rent cycle ending with August, so we are taking donations for the next cycle (no pressure of course).

🌞August Schedule

We will not have a room rented in the Arts Council on August 6 or August 20. We will do a plein air meeting on August 20, weather permitting. Besides the Princeton University campus, we are also considering the Princeton Shopping Center (where McCaffrey’s is). We are of course open to location suggestions!

🔥Anthology Lock-In Day

Saturday, August 2 is our dedicated day to work on your anthology submissions. We will be at The Gravity Vault, a climbing gym in Plainsboro. It is $14 per person, which grants us a large table for working space as well as free gear rental. Come if you want to draw, but also come if you want to climb for cheap!

ACP Sketchbook Club

It’s back! $10 per sketchbook (plus extra if shipping to your door); they are due Wed, Dec 10, 5:00, after which the Arts Council will display them all upstairs.

🔥UPCOMING CONVENTIONS🔥

⛺ACP yART Sale

A flea market-style of misprinted, slightly damaged art for thrifty prices happening in the Arts Council’s parking lot on Sat, August 2, 9:00-1:00. Nishant will be there! Sign up here for updates on future application openings.

🏘️Wellsboro Comic Con

Amy Chu (with Chris and Masha!) will be tabling at the Wellsboro Comic Con. This is also an event that attracts lots of industry professionals, so if you are willing to drive ~5 hours, we recommend checking it out. This free event is on Saturday, August 9, from 10:00-6:00. It is town-wide, but formal comic con activities will be at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts, the Warehouse Theatre, and the surrounding yard. Check here for parking info.

🍎Anime NYC

Anime NYC is coming up again at the Javits Center, August 21-24. Check their website for details on hours and prices. Lucy (@opal_lines on Instagram) will be tabling there!

🖼️Armory Show

The Armory Show will also be in the Javits Center, September 5-7. Contemporary and Modern art galleries from across the world display art by some of the most exciting fine artists working today! General admission is $59.
