🖋️IN SHORT: Masha will sell wares on your behalf at JetLAG, contact her if interested. Amy Chu will give a comics industry talk on June 11. Shannon (Comix Accountability Club) will be at Frog Farm in Brooklyn, June 14. Steve will table at the Garden State Comic Fest. Next anthology check-in is June 11, deadline (for now) is June 25.

🎤Amy Chu comics talk

Amy Chu is a comics author who lives in the area, and she is very kindly giving a talk about the industry for us on Wed, June 11. This talk will focus on networking and working on mainstream comics. There will also be a show-and-tell of your own work, so remember to prepare some stuff for presentation.

🎸JetLAG Festival (Downsville, NY)

Masha will run a goblin-themed market at JetLAG Fri-Sun, June 20-22. Early-bird discounted tickets have ended, so attending personally may be difficult. But Masha is happy to sell your items on your behalf. If you would like to contribute goods to stock her market, just let her know!

Deadline: Tues, June 10 (first-come-first-serve)
What: Fundraiser 3-mile race for Lawrence Neighbors Together with recreational activities and market (that you can table at) afterwards.

Middle Township Savor The Arts Festival

Deadline: Sat, June 14
What: Colorful, joyful art, suitable for family audience. Pieces that tell a story, engage young minds, and inspire creativity. All mediums accepted.

Second check-in has started. This involves checking your to-scale pencils/rough drafts.

A reminder: if you want more time, just let us know. Our deadline is arbitrary, and if multiple people want it, we can of course push the deadline back. We won’t bite!

Our rough schedule:

Jun 11 - 3rd check-in (SOFT DEADLINE, tones/shading/lettering)⬅️
Jun 25 - All final artwork due (HARD DEADLINE)
Jul 23 - Layout 1st check-in
Aug 13 - Final layout due
Aug 20 - Start of promos and pre-orders

Frog Farm Fair

Shannon Spence, who does the Comix Accountability Club with Feather, will be at Frog Farm Fair on Sat, June 14 at 563 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn. The Frog Farm is a riso publisher who host a lot of comics-focused events like this. Check them out!

Garden State Comic Fest

Steve is tabling at the Garden State Comic Fest, the weekend of June 28-29, 10:00-5:00 (ends at 4:00 on Sunday), at the Codey Arena. Go say hi!
