Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #30
Summary of the Last Meeting (9/4/2024)
So many of you showed up yesterday for plein air drawing! We were expecting around 6 people max, so we were (pleasantly) surprised by the turnout. Please feel free to let us know if you would like to do something similar again. It may be difficult to schedule on a Wednesday, since we pay for the Communiversity Room per day, but we can always find other days that work.
24-Hour Comic Day is approaching, and Artworks Trenton has agreed to let us use their space. The kickoff event will be from 10:00-4:00 on Saturday, October 5, and the goal is to make a 24-page comic in 24 hours. We won’t hold you for all 24 hours though. We will start drawing together, finish at home, and then share our results at the next Wednesday meeting.
Also, as the next rent cycle approaches, just want to say thank you to everyone who purchased a pin or made a donation, as the amount has been fully covered! Any extra donations will be reserved for the following cycle. You’re all awesome!

Upcoming Shows
This year’s Annual Hopewell Tour Des Arts is at the end of September, during which local artists’ studios will be open for public viewing, and their works will be displayed in buildings across the town. One of the artists featured will be our very own Anita! The event is Saturday, September 28, 10:00-5:00; and Sunday, September 29, 11:00-4:00. It is also free! A map will be made available closer to the date that will allow visitors to plan their visit. Here is also the event Instagram page.
The Artworks Trenton “Sequential” exhibition, October 22 - November 23, is themed around comics and narrative-based art. Luke and Masha both have works featured in this show! It’s still a little bit away, so Artworks Trenton has not yet made a formal announcement page, just the call for the submissions.
Faraway Reminders
JetLAG Festival (Downsville, NY) is in about half a year, and includes music and camping, as well the opportunity to do installations! If you are looking for something fun to do in several seasons, consider checking this out!
Tomato reminder
We also still have tomato enamel pins, which are $10 for members. The proceeds from these pins go directly to our rent. If you want to help with rent but don’t necessarily want a pin, you can also just give Chris the same amount of money. No pressure, of course, and thank you to everyone who already contributed!
