Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #29
Summary of the Last Meeting (8/28/2024)
First of all, a reminder that there will be no meeting next week, September 4, as the Princeton Arts Council is observing a personal holiday. Instead, we will be meeting unofficially in the courtyard outside the Princeton Public Library. We will be keeping our eyes on the weather, and any updates and last minute changes will be announced in the Discord server.
We also still have tomato enamel pins, which are $10 for members. The proceeds from these pins go directly to our rent. If you want to help with rent but don’t necessarily want a pin, you can also just give Chris the same amount of money. No pressure, of course, and thank you to everyone who already contributed!
A note about the room we have rented: we were initially hoping to move into the auditorium for the new contract, as it is larger and has better acoustics, but the Arts Council uses that room for many other groups and events, and so most likely we will stay in the Communiversity Room. For now, chairs and noise are things we will have to continue managing.

Upcoming Shows
This year’s Annual Hopewell Tour Des Arts is at the end of September, during which local artists’ studios will be open for public viewing, and their works will be displayed in buildings across the town. One of the artists featured will be our very own Anita! The event is Saturday, September 28, 10:00-5:00; and Sunday, September 29, 11:00-4:00. It is also free! A map will be made available closer to the date that will allow visitors to plan their visit. Here is also the event Instagram page.
The Artworks Trenton “Sequential” exhibition, October 22 - November 23, is themed around comics and narrative-based art. Luke and Masha both have works featured in this show! It’s still a little bit away, so Artworks Trenton has not yet made an announcement page, just the call for the submissions.
Faraway Reminders
JetLAG Festival and 24-Hour Comic Day are in about a year. JetLAG Festival (Downsville, NY) of course includes music and camping, as well the opportunity to do installations! If you are looking for something fun to do in several seasons, consider checking this out!
24-Hour Comics Day will take place on Saturday, October 5. We are still open to location suggestions. Thank you to everyone who already suggested places!
