Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #22

Summary of the Last Meeting (7/3/2024)

It’s July!

Book club participants: the next meeting will be July 10, and will discuss up to chapter 49 of Griz Grobus. You can read it online here, or check out your library or bookstore for a print copy.

There are 2 things coming up next year (so no rush, no pressure!) that we would like to get interest checks for. One is making an installation project for the JetLAG Festival. Project proposals can get grants ranging from $50-$1500. These installations do not need to be super intensive; when Masha went, there were many installations made more or less entirely of prefabricated decorations. Do note that the Festival does involve camping in the semi-wilderness with limited internet access, so if this is not your jam, no worries. Here is a link to the JetLAG Festival page, and here is a link to their project application form, where you can read more information.

The second thing is that we are looking for a venue that we can rent to host a 24-Hour Comics Day. Ideally this would be on Saturday, October 5. If you have any ideas, please let us know!

Bonus

Flame Con is coming up, August 17 and 18 at the Times Square Sheraton (811 7th Avenue, W 53rd st, New York, NY 10019)! Masha will be tabling there, if you want to go say hi.

Anime NYC is also coming up! August 23 through August 25 at the Javits Convention Center. Chris, Masha, and Suyang will all be sharing a table. Come say hi if you want to!

And as always, here is the Discord invite link. At first, you'll only see the "about-rules" channel; just enter the command written at the bottom of the guidelines to access to the rest of the server. If the link doesn't work, let us know and we'll send you another.
