Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #13
First of all, Big News!
Chris met with the Arts Council people, and the new rental is now complete! Most things are staying the same: we will be meeting in the Communiversity Room on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00. We have the space from May 1 to August 24, meaning we DO meet this week! Please also note that another group will be using the Communiversity room on August 7, so we will not have the room that day. I will send out a reminder as we approach that date.
And if any of you folks like what we do and are interested in helping out with the rental fee, we would certainly appreciate your aid! You can send $15 to Chris through Venmo or PayPal, or you can bring $15 to the next meeting. Venmo or PayPal would be easier for Chris, since the payment deadline is Tuesday, April 30. And to just to emphasize, while we appreciate the help, please do not feel pressured to pay! This is only if you want to. Chris’ Venmo is @XtinaCas, and her PayPal is xtinariaa@gmail.com.
And now, the Summary of the Last Meeting (4/24/2024)
Feather recommends checking out the Comix Accountability Club. It’s a similar group to ours, but more focused on zines and comics. They also publish anthologies! And they have a Discord! If you are interested, just DM them on their Instagram account. Just note that the Discord is for ages 18+.
We also have been floating the idea of outdoor activities, especially now that the weather is getting nicer. Please feel free to bring any of your desires, suggestions, ideas, etc. to the Discord, in an email, or to the next meeting. And since we do not have the Communiversity Room on August 7, that would be an excellent day for a casual hangout somewhere else!
Finally, as some of you have noticed, the Communiversity Room echoes quite a bit and can get loud quickly. Some folks have suggested taping towels or blankets to the walls to help with noise control. As long as it is unobtrusive, this should be okay. If anyone has other ideas, we are all ears!
Reminders
For the new folks and anyone who was not receiving emails until recently, please click here to access the backlog of all our email blasts.
And as always, here is the Discord invite link. At first, you'll only see the "about-rules" channel; just enter the command written at the bottom of the guidelines to access to the rest of the server. If the link doesn't work, let us know and we'll send you another.
