Princeton Comic Makers Weekly Roundup #11

Summary of the Last Meeting (4/10/2024)

There were so many new faces last wednesday! We're so glad you all made it out here. For the sake of our newcomers, we'll just quickly go over what to expect: we're basically an open studio, so bring your own art to work on, and then we talk about each others' works at the end. Please note that while we were lucky to have the upstairs to ourselves for several weeks, we should be mindful if there are other groups meeting around us. The space reverberates quite a bit and can get clamorous quickly. If you want to talk to someone sitting far away, feel free to move seats or even the tables; we're not school!

I would also like to apologize to the folks who haven't been receiving any of these emails! Please click here to access the backlog of all our email blasts. This link will also be in Discord.

Reminders

If you haven't yet, please fill our short survey (link here!) about your thoughts on our current arrangement with the Princeton Arts Council. The last day of our current agreement is April 24, and Chris would like to gather your opinions to prepare for negotiating a new agreement. Your responses are highly appreciated!

As always, here is the Discord invite link. At first, you'll only see the "about-rules" channel; just enter the command written at the bottom of the guidelines to access to the rest of the server. And if the link doesn't work, let us know and we'll send you another.

Bonus!

Several of you folks seem very into scifi, so I want to share one of my favorite sources of scifi illustrations: "Worlds Beyond Time - Sci-Fi Art of the 1970s," by Adam Rowe. Rowe also has a blog called "70s Sci-Fi Art" where he posts these illustrations (with credits), if you don't want to purchase the book.
