Hello, friends! Welcome to the last post of our validating content for newcomers series. Growth in Lolita fashion can look like a lot of different things - settling into your favorite substyle, fusing your aesthetic with other types of J-fashion, or just making coords that make you happy. Today, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite resources for growing in the fashion. These are only a few resources among the many, many resources out there - what are your favorites?

Sizing in Lolita fashion is tough to navigate. This list of resources makes it a little easier. While your mileage may vary with Facebook groups, this list is a great starting point for support and information about shopping for plus sizes in the fashion. We’d like to shout out the first link in the tree, Size-Inclusive Sweet Lolita Brands from Milkcircus. This post is very thorough and links to a bunch of other resources. Of course, do your own research as well before buying from a particular brand, and make sure that their actions are in line with your values.

Sometimes you want all the links in one place! This post by Mahou Queen has tons of resources, and the author keeps it up to date.

Sometimes, you get to a point in your personal aesthetic where you’re wondering - what’s next? I have a wardrobe I like, but not all of my coords pop, and I can’t tell why? Kaiser’s panel from Bay Area Kei’s Sea of Serenity event will get you to the next level. They share their designer-ly advice and insight and provide multiple vectors (layering, texture, silhouette, pattern, motifs) to focus on as you improve your coords. This is, in Nif’s opinion, some of the best advanced-level advice out there. This is a new section we’re introducing to our posts to help keep the focus on social justice in our communities. Event Updates??

We will begin shifting the focus of this content towards our event starting next week, May 7. We are still cautiously optimistic, with the state of vaccine rollout, that we may be able to put on our event as planned this November.
