We launched a podcast: Agents After Dark 🎙️

🎙️ We launched a podcast
Matt here. For the past 12 months, we’ve been watching how organisations are engaging with AI and how they deploy Agents. We’ve seen what’s working, what’s failing — and what nobody is discussing.
So we made a podcast about it.
Agents After Dark, by Prefactor is for engineering, product, security, and AI leaders building real AI systems.
Expect:
- No hype.
- No speeches about how “AI will change everything.”
- No recycled LinkedIn commentary.
Just honest conversations with the people deploying AI inside large enterprises, tech companies, and startups — on agents in production, quality and reliability, risk and trust, and what successful teams do differently.
The first two episodes are live now.

🎧 Episode 1 — Inside a sovereign wealth fund’s AI rollout, with Lachlan (QIC)
One of the first AI hires at an Australian sovereign wealth fund on governance, getting agents from POC to production, and why “fast follower” beats groundbreaking when there are billions on the table.
“We’re moving from generating code or assets like Word docs or PowerPoints through to reviewing them. You can have an agent synthesize all of this information, generate something for you, and have a human take it off in an hour rather than spend three days writing it.”
“Take RPA, add a little bit of agentic orchestration and a little bit of LLM generative stuff in there — that’s the place where you really want to play at the moment.”

🎧 Episode 2 — Throwing away your darlings and rebuilding on LLMs, with Andrew Bird (Affinda)
Affinda’s first Head of AI on rebuilding a mature document processing platform on top of LLMs, managing risk while moving fast, and what AI agents of the future will actually want to buy.
“It probably surprises people, when they dig under the hood of document processing providers, how few of them are actually using LLMs. You’ve got PhD-level intelligence on tap for a pretty reasonable price.”
“They’re not going to be interested in some monolithic thing with a database and a whole bunch of features attached. What they want is a bunch of high-quality transactional services they can call to perform specific tasks. If I was an AI agent, that’s the sort of thing I’d want to buy.”
