GitHub shipped Efficiency, Balance, and Intelligence tiers for Copilot's auto model selection on September 14. You set one preference and Copilot applies it to every prompt. All three tiers pull from the same model roster, so auto still reaches for a stronger model when a prompt earns it. Billing follows whichever model auto picks; paid subscribers keep the 10 percent discount. Rollout covers VS Code, Copilot CLI, and the GitHub Copilot app.

Rule of thumb: Efficiency for docstrings and completion spam, Intelligence for code review and architectural work. Per-tier usage dashboards and org-level defaults are still on the roadmap. Early access started September 16 for US subscribers on the $20/month Google Home Premium Advanced tier. Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible agents can monitor devices, read camera summaries, and run controls in plain language. Setup requires configuring a Google Cloud project, so this is a developer weekend, not a household toggle. Anthropic folded Cowork into the main Claude chat on September 16 and put Claude Docs and Claude Slides into beta for Pro and Max plan users, with Team and Free to follow. Claude now decides on its own whether your prompt goes to chat or to the agentic surface. iOS 27 landed September 14 in public beta with Siri AI on iPhone 15 Pro and newer, English only, no EU release at launch. This is the first non-Apple foundation model to power a shipping Siri feature. The Ditchley Foundation summit opened September 16 at Dumfries House with Jensen Huang, Demis Hassabis, and about 30 AI executives around a draft charter built on human dignity.
