Anthropic shipped Claude Opus 5 on July 24 at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output, the same price as Opus 4.8. On OSWorld 2.0 computer use it beats Fable 5 at one-third the per-task cost, and on CursorBench 3.2 it lands within 0.5 percent of Fable 5's coding score at half the cost, per Anthropic's announcement.
Opus 5 keeps no retention window, which reopens healthcare, finance, and legal pipelines.
