Grok Build vs. Claude Code vs. Cline: three terminal agents, one winner for your workflow

xAI enters the terminal coding race with parallel subagents. Here is how to pick.

MAY 28TH, 2026 · BY JONATHAN HILDEBRANDT

Anthropic's Mythos model is, by the company's own assessment, "strikingly capable at computer security tasks." So capable that Anthropic pulled it from public access after it briefly appeared in Claude Code's model selector on May 26. The model stays restricted to a vetted set of organizations through Project Glasswing, which routes Mythos toward securing critical infrastructure rather than releasing it broadly.

Why it matters. A lab valued at $900B is voluntarily leaving revenue on the table because the capability ceiling is too high. If you build on Claude APIs, this signals a new access tier above consumer Max, gated by risk profile, not price. Read Anthropic's technical writeup.

Copilot billing flips to AI Credits in 4 days

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

GitHub switches every Copilot plan to usage-based AI Credits billing on June 1. Plan prices stay the same (Free through Enterprise $39/user/mo), but the meter under them changes. Teams that haven't mapped their usage to the new credit allotments are flying blind into a new billing cycle. We broke down the math for each tier.

Claude Compliance API ships with 28 security partners

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

Anthropic launched the Claude Compliance API on May 21 with integrations for Cloudflare CASB, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Purview, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, and Zscaler. IT teams now get real-time DLP, SIEM, and eDiscovery access to Claude conversation data. Regulated-industry pilots just got simpler to justify.

xAI ships Grok Build CLI beta: parallel subagents, 256k context

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

A third terminal coding agent entered the ring on May 25. Grok Build runs on grok-build-0.1 (256k context) and its headline feature is parallel subagents: a single prompt can spawn up to 8 workers across separate codebase branches. Available to SuperGrok ($99/mo introductory) and X Premium Plus subscribers.

Microsoft and Anthropic in early talks over Maia 200 chip compute

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

After Microsoft's $5B investment, the two companies are in early talks to add Microsoft's Maia 200 AI chip as a third compute source alongside AWS and Google Cloud. No deal signed yet, but a third silicon supplier would reduce single-vendor dependency for teams building on Claude APIs.

Make: automation that bills per operation, not per task

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

For multi-step workflows run at volume, Make's per-operation billing beats Zapier's per-task meter. We walked through the numbers for three team profiles in our Make vs. n8n vs. Zapier comparison.

Cline: open-source coding agent, BYO model, no subscription

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

Open-source VS Code coding extension. Works with Claude, GPT-5, Grok, Gemini. No subscription required. Especially relevant this week with Grok Build's launch: Cline is the no-subscription, model-agnostic alternative for developers who want full control.

Cloudways: managed hosting for self-hosted AI tools

MAY 28TH · PONDERO NEWSDESK

Managed cloud hosting for Open WebUI, n8n, FLUX.2, and other self-hosted AI tools. Spin up a server in five minutes and skip the DevOps overhead.

Grok Build vs. Claude Code vs. Cline (May 2026)

MAY 26TH · PONDERO COMPARISON

xAI shipped Grok Build on May 25 with parallel subagents and a $99/mo starting price. Claude Code is the established terminal agent. Cline is the open-source pick with BYO model. We mapped which one fits three profiles: the solo developer, the team on GitHub Enterprise, and the tinkerer who wants full model control.

MAY 26TH · PONDERO GUIDE

June 1 billing change in 4 days. Five plans, each with a different AI Credit allotment. We mapped the math at every tier, including what GPT-5.3-Codex as the default engine means for Business and Enterprise usage meters.

Copilot vs. Cursor vs. Claude Code (May 2026)

MAY 24TH · PONDERO COMPARISON

Three different shapes of AI coding tool. Copilot is IDE-native with enterprise governance. Cursor is the agentic editor. Claude Code is terminal-first. We compared them on price, agent capability, and team fit before the June 1 billing change.

Claude Code /code-review command guide May 2026

Claude Code /code-review command (May 2026)

MAY 25TH · PONDERO GUIDE

Claude Code v2.1.147 replaced /simplify with /code-review. The new command posts findings as inline GitHub PR comments directly from the terminal. Setup, effort levels, and when to reach for it instead of Copilot's built-in review agent.

Make vs n8n vs Zapier comparison May 2026

Make vs. n8n vs. Zapier (May 2026)

MAY 24TH · PONDERO COMPARISON

The billing model decides this one. Same 5-step workflow run 1,000 times costs 5,000 tasks on Zapier, 5,000 operations on Make, and 1,000 executions on n8n. We worked through the math with sourced 2026 pricing for three team profiles.
