Did you miss us? 😉
Hey there!
This email is not an April Fool’s joke. We are actually back and sending out our first Ponder newsletter in over 12 months.
What took us so long, you ask? While already busy with the process of founding a company, we’ve also been lucky enough to work on some exciting projects at the same time. Thanks for being patient with us 🙈. In the future, we will send out this newsletter about once per month, sharing one “ponderous” thought and a few bits of inspiration with you.
However, this time, we’ll give you a quick recap of what happened since we last spoke — and what we’re up to these days. And we’d like to invite you to party with us for a good cause. Let’s go!
We became a proper company 🎓
Last year, we spent quite some time incorporating (Heyy, Ponderhaus GmbH!), drafting legal documents in gender-sensitive language, setting up operations, and making ourselves at home in our beautiful Haus of Ponder. An exciting space right by the river Spree — where we’ll work, hang out, connect with the community and have the occasional party (with you?).
We’re also thrilled to tell you more about our recent work, but let’s maybe save those stories for another time. So instead, please have a look at our beautiful (and rather new) website for more.

We added an amazing human to our team 🌷Please meet Diane! She will be mainly here for you: Taking care of our space and events, making sure everyone feels welcome, and spreading her creativity and unstoppable positivity. You’ll hear more from her soon; she’s a special one. And we’re super thankful that she’ll share her time, thoughts and good viiibes with us! |

We started taking action 💔
Obviously, we can’t only stick with cheerful updates these days. What happens in Ukraine (and so many other parts of the world) has also given us pause. So, to do our part, we opened up our Haus and provided a safe space to work for refugees. Also, we came up with two additional ways to help (and even give something back to you folks):
- We’ve created an online fundraiser to support BIPoC, LGBTQIA+ and other marginalised individuals fleeing Ukraine. Bonus: If you help the cause, you enter a raffle to win a Ponder-designed website! If that isn’t motivation to chip in, what is?
- We will host our first party at the Haus of Ponder on Sunday, April 10th (starting at 2 pm) — with sets played by the always inspiring DJ Network SLIC UNIT.
To support the good cause, we’ll donate 100% of the proceeds and auction off works by artists and illustrators like Jay Daniel Wright, Molly Rose Dyson and Rah Rah Studio. In addition, you’ll be able to make your own lino prints and experience a magical interactive sound installation.
So come over to say hi — and tell us how we did (this is our first event, after all). And if you want to get involved, don’t be shy and send us a quick email!
Weekend send-off
So much for the recap of what we’re up to these days. Although, as this newsletter is going out on a Friday, we want to send you off to an inspiring and ponderful weekend. This time, we’d like to share one important book and give you a taste of the music that you can dance to at our party!

“Und jetzt du.” by Tupoka Ogette (in German) It’s an engaging and brutally honest book with so much food for thought and shifts in perspective. We find it can really help privileged white people like us to leave our “happy land” and finally do our part to create an anti-racist future. |

We already mentioned our favourites SLIC UNIT — and this weekend you’re in for a treat: Tune in on Saturday from 6-10 pm to get a taste of their greatness — live on HÖR (details and lineup) or checkout their posts and music here: |
Thank you so much for reading!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this newsletter. If not, please let us know what bothered you before you unsubscribe. We’re always happy to hear your feedback and use it to make the newsletter more relevant for everyone. Here’s a simple form to submit your thoughts.
We promise you won’t have to wait for the next issue for another year. We’re fully operational now — and we just had a slot open in our project queue from mid-April. So drop us a message to learn more about how we might work with you!
So long,
Your friends at Ponder
