I’m Clar, an illustrator from the Philippines! I go by polvoronii on the internet these days, and this newsletter/blog is my most recent1 attempt in carving out a tiny digital space for myself where I can document my art and share my ramblings in public.

what will you ramble about?

Good question! Likely subjects are going to be:

• My process! For illustrations and other art-related shenanigans

• Thoughts on art! And being an artist!

• Slices of life! What am I doing with mine??

• Cats! Ones I’m taking care of, and just cats in general

• 19th century Philippines! Oddly specific, but it’s there

And maybe other things too! Those … will get figured out along the way.

what are you?

I’d like to think of myself as three cats in a trench-coat. Just three weird little guys trying to be human. On the other hand, my partner has described my temperament as that similar to a dog: energetic, loud, and affectionate. That’s accurate too.

As an artist, I like to draw vintage fashion, cats, and queer relationships (in that exact order). Sometimes, it’s a combination of the three, or none at all. Currently, I’m exploring horror in my art.
