What'cha Gonna Do When Day 2 Rumbles on YOU?
Day two ya bitches!
I’m gonna warn you now … if you hate stupid puns, conversations about good food and drink, old school wrestling and general shenanigans then Plunder Pitch Mix Picks ain’t for you. But the good news is … you’re here! So that means you’re awesome and it IS for you!
Day one not exactly where we want it to be, but as I’ve already said April is a learning process and this whole thing is an evolution. Lots to learn from and build on and some good victories in there too.

Some housekeeping stuff from questions being asked …
Q: What type of odds do you consider playable?
A: In a perfect world I’m trying to figure out ways to always have plus odds plays, but that’s not always going to happen. Generally if something is worse than -120/-125 I’m probably not taking it as a solo play.
Q: What does “1u” mean?
A: Any time I’m sharing “u” that is referring to the “unit” of play. A unit is what you consider your base bet based on your bankroll and risk management. So for some people that might be a $10 bet, others might be $100. So if your “unit” is $10, a 1u bet is $10. A 0.3u bet is $3.
Q: Will you recap your plays?
A: Yes. Absolutely. Reality is it will be one day delayed so I can process the full results including all late games. I would love to be able to do it the next day but jobs, kids, and life in general has me juggling all of that. Maybe some day this can be my full time thing and that would be AMAZING. Until then, you gotta wait a day. If you want results faster, follow me on Pikkit (@plundertheunder) and you can see everything right away.
✅ TOP PICKS ✅
Bryan Reynolds (PIT) vs. Connor Gillespie [GRADE: A-/B+]
I know what you’re thinking … “Bro, we’re one day into the season and this dude is your top play? WTF?” I get it, but at the same time that’s what I love about this system. Any jackhole can tell you to pick Ohtani every day. We dive deeper around here.
Reality is we have very little to go on with Gillespie, but he throws a mix of 4 seam, change, cutter and slider. Reynolds delivered this last year …
H/AB | AVG | wOBA | OPS | ISO | HardHit% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
93-300 | .310 | .395 | .944 | .213 | 51.50% |
Pretty solid. And 15 of the 31 extra base hits were home runs, so pretty solider even. Is that a word?
TARGET MARKETS: If we can get a solid H+R+R line we look, but probably TB at 1u and HR (0.3u), hits parlays
Quick note on the Target Markets section: These are the markets I’m going to be line/promo shopping for when the markets open up. Sometimes I will avoid them if they’re too juicy or the odds are just garbage. Unit recommendation is a general guideline, but could change based on value.
Pavin Smith (ARI) vs. Jamison Taillon [GRADE: B+/A-]
I mean damn … a Pirate is the top pick and then this dingleberry for the next one? Will he even start? He might not, so you gotta wait for the lineups, but the numbers don’t lie here …
H/AB | AVG | wOBA | OPS | ISO | HardHit% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
26-70 | .371 | .457 | 1.136 | .271 | 50.82 |
All I’m saying is if I gave you these numbers for Aaron Judge you’d be creaming in your jeans, so let’s take our data and likely the advantage the books will give us. NOTE: You will need to wait for lineups to come out to make sure he’s starting.
TARGET MARKETS: H+R+R/TB (1u), HR (0.3u), hits parlays
OK friends … this is the part of the email where we move on to the PREMIUM plays. So here comes THE DREADED PAYWALL!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
