What you should expect from The PlainText Rights mailing list:

·         Semi-regular updates leading up to the 2027 Texas Legislative session going over the biggest events related to technology and privacy policy in the state

·         Once the session gets going information on important bills and their status as they find they way through the legislature

·         Events and meetings put on by other advocacy groups who are involved in also defending our digital rights and civil liberties

Who we are:

The PlainText Rights Foundation is a digital rights advocacy group based in Austin, Texas.

We are a team of legal professionals, policy wonks, researchers, programmers, and, most importantly, concerned Texans united for the cause to clarify, protect, and empower the digital rights and civil liberties of each Texan, regardless of political affiliation.

We believe that personal privacy and digital rights are paramount to the functioning of a strong and just democracy, and it is our mission to equip our fellow citizens with the knowledge, confidence, and power to safely exist in a modern society that is heavily intertwined with cyberspace.
