PLAINTEXT DISPATCH 23 : EZF this weekend, plus our new zines!

Welcome to the Plaintext Dispatch list. This is an email list for the Plaintext Distro, a digital zine distro specializing in low-tech, DIY, game dev and anti-capitalist zines.

I’ll start right off with the big headline: Edinburgh Zine Fair is this weekend!! We will be tabling on Saturday, November 7. It’s at St. Mag’s on London Road, and will be open from Noon to 5:30 PM! Big day!

I am getting our big stack of zine stock together. I think we will have EVERY title on the website available which is awesome. I hope people come browse! Anyways, without further ado, here are our three NEW ZINES of 2026:

• Uncharismatic Minorfauna, a seaman fanzine by me and Stephen! If you’ve ever been curious about this Dreamcast oddity, by game design hero Yoot Saito, this is for you!

• Masters of the Wine Printers Guild, an intriguing speculative story about a world where printing guilds can produce usable objects by Francis Bass. I really enjoyed both the unique characters and world-building elements in this one.

• And This is your last chance to give us the nude codes by thecatamites! An archival investigation into the rise of “nude codes” and the bizarre tendencies of 90s gaming magazines they revealed…

As always, if you can’t make it, I will probably try to drop off a restock at Good Press after the zine fair. Hope you are having a lovely autumn!

Thanks for reading! And of course, feel free to get in touch by replying to this email if you have any questions.
