Welcome to the Plaintext Dispatch list. This is an email list for the Plaintext Distro, a digital zine distro specializing in low-tech, DIY, game dev and anti-capitalist zines.
Oh nooo....
Unfortunately on Thursday my partner tested positive for COVID. He's a little under the weather but doing fine, and I tested negative, but given we spent 90% of our time in the same places and going to the same things over the past week, I made the call that it feels safer to act as if I am also potentially contagious for the next few days as well. Sadly that means I don't feel great about spending an entire day in a hall filled with people, even though before this I really, really wanted to!
HOWEVER ALL IS NOT LOST!
This is a bummer but since I've already had the print order done I've come up with a few solutions for still getting this batch of Plaintext zines out there! Our new zines will still be available at Glasgow Zine Festival 2022 on both days, July 2nd and 3rd! Instead of me being there in person, they will just be at the communal zine table, which is in the same main room of the fair.
I have also re-activated the online shopping features on the website, and will be taking orders through the month of July! So hopefully if you were looking forward to getting your hands on some of the new zines you will still be able to now!
HMM... WHAT ELSE?
I was really excited to get out there and get some in-person feedback on our stuff, so I'll also have to look for other opportunities to do that once we're in the clear here. It's disappointing, and really bad luck, but I hope these last minute options will keep Plaintext going along for now!
