Welcome to the Plaintext Dispatch list. This is an email list for the Plaintext Distro, a digital zine distro specializing in low-tech, DIY, game dev and anti-capitalist zines.
We are currently preparing for an in-person zine table at Glasgow Zine Festival 2022, in July!
SUBMISSION DEADLINE APPROACHING!
We are down to approximately two weeks until the cutoff for zines to be featured at the GZF table. Please do your best to get a print ready version to me by Friday, June 17th! I will be making the print order shortly after then.
If you are still on the fence about submitting but have some ideas, check out the website for more in-depth info on how this whole thing works, as well as an idea of what kind of stuff we already stock. I will be adding some of our new stock, which will include a fanzine, a yearbook for an anonymous game making collective, found text minis, and new indie sci-fi fiction, to the site soon!
VISIT THE IRL TABLE
Plaintext's tabling date for Glasgow Zine Festival 2022 will be Sunday, July 3rd! It will be taking place in the CCA on Sauchiehall Street as it has been in past years, and you can now check out the full programme of events and talks on the site.
Pricing will be a compromise between at-cost distribution and convenience, so £1 for minis, and £2 for booklets, with an additional 3 for 5 deal probably and letting people take free minis or trade for zines they want if I'm feeling friendly, the usual.
HMM... WHAT ELSE?
Can't really think of anything! Except that I'm excited for the festival and hope to see some cool folks there.
