Welcome to the Plaintext Dispatch list. This is an email list for the Plaintext Distro, a digital zine distro specializing in low-tech, DIY, game dev and anti-capitalist zines.
Spring is here and with it some exciting news about distro activities!
UPCOMING TABLE
After unfortunately having to hold off on the in-person parts of GZF last summer, Plaintext Distro will actually IRL return at Glasgow Zine Fest 2023! Our table is scheduled for Saturday, July 8th and I will be carrying fresh copies of all of our back catalog as well as some tantalizing new creations... If you're a local, it's in the CCA in Glasgow as it has been in past years. As before, I may also revive the website for orders of leftover stock afterwards. Drop by if you're in the area, or if you've been doing some writing/drawing/making/whatever that you'd like to see in print, read on...
IF YOU WANT TO SUBMIT A ZINE
Of course I have always been happy to look at submissions anytime, but I know having a deadline motivates some people! The cut off for the print order for our table at GZF 2023 will be TUESDAY, JUNE 20th! If you have work you would like to see distributed on the GZF table, feel free to respond to this email with a heads-up, and prepare to get a PDF suitable for B&W booklet printing to me by that date.
You don't have to have EVERYTHING 100% ready right now, but it will help me build the homepage and get a general idea of what we'll have on offer to know what new things people are interested in submitting. As always, check out the website for more in-depth info on how this whole thing works, as well as an idea of what kind of stuff we already stock.
HMM... WHAT ELSE?
Domino Club continues to release batches and batches of stone-cold classics, plus their yearbook zine (which Plaintext distributes in print) is available in the standalones section now.
