Welcome to the Plaintext Dispatch list. This is an email list for the Plaintext Distro, a digital zine distro specializing in low-tech, DIY, game dev and anti-capitalist zines.
It has been a while since my last update, as I was not able to get involved with many zine events in the second half of 2021. However, with the new year that's fortunately changed!
UPCOMING IRL TABLE
Plaintext will be making its first IRL appearance at Glasgow Zine Festival 2022 on Sunday, July 3rd! If you're a local, it's in the event rooms of the CCA on Sauchiehall Street as it has been in past years. I may also revive the website for orders of leftover stock afterwards, but I really want to focus on presenting our stuff in this new context for the moment! Drop by if you're in the area, or if you've been doing some writing/drawing/making/whatever that you'd like to see in print, read on...
IF YOU WANT TO SUBMIT A ZINE
Of course I have always been happy to look at submissions anytime, but I appreciate having a deadline motivates some people! The cut off for the print order for our July 3rd table at GZF 2022 will be Friday, June 17th! If you have work you would like to see distributed on the GZF table, feel free to respond to this email with a heads-up, and prepare to get a PDF suitable for B&W booklet printing to me by that date.
You don't have to have EVERYTHING 100% ready right now, but it will help me build the homepage and get a general idea of what we'll have on offer to know what new things people are interested in submitting. As always, check out the website for more in-depth info on how this whole thing works, as well as an idea of what kind of stuff we already stock.
HMM... WHAT ELSE?
Domino Club, the loose, anonymous digital collective I'm sometimes a part of has released another set of games and other projects. They're definitely zine-adjacent, especially the type of things Plaintext covers, so go check them out!
