We're Building This.

Hello Everyone,

May wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t the kind of month where you get to post big announcements or shiny milestones. It was the kind of month where the computer screen was a best friend, and you put your head down and worked. Sending emails at odd hours, knocking on doors, following up with people who said “maybe”, and doing all of the unglamorous tasks that lay the foundation to move a nonprofit forward.

This month felt more like construction. Not the ribbon-cutting part either, but the part where you’re hauling the lumber, pouring concrete, and checking measurements twice because you know it has to be just right. That’s where Pivot Point has been. And even though it’s not loud, it’s real. It’s happening. And it’s building toward something big.

The shoe drive has been one of the most unexpectedly steady sources of momentum. Shoes showing up on porches. People messaging out of nowhere. Bags being handed off in parking lots. It’s simple, it’s working, and it’s funding the work we hope to launch this Fall. We’re collecting through the end of June, and every pair helps us push this mission forward.

And then there’s the golf tournament on June 27. This is our big summer push, the event that’s going to bring people together, raise real support, and put Pivot Point in front of the community in a visible way. We’re looking for teams. We’re looking for sponsors. We’re looking for the people who want to say they were a part of building this from the ground up. If that’s you, send me a message, and I’ll get you the information.

Because here’s the truth: everything we’re doing right now is about getting our Fall pilot off the ground. A trauma-informed, relationship-centered program for youth who need consistency, advocacy, and someone who won’t disappear on them. That’s the mission. That’s the work. And we’re not waiting for perfect conditions. We’re building it now, with whatever we have, wherever we can, one step at a time.

So no, May wasn’t very flashy, but it was forward. It was focused. It was the kind of month that doesn’t look like progress until you zoom out and realize how much ground you covered.

June is where things start to move, and we’re ready.

With Gratitude,

Ashley
