Pious Rot - Starting the plains area and more news
As the snow covers the peaks of the Northern mountains and the inhabitants of Godrindell salt the fish they caught and pickle the variety of seaweed they gathered for the darker months, me (Lizbeth) and Sedge also resume our work in exploring and documenting the world of Thiusland.
The first booklet detailing the Northern region of the world is almost done and we’re looking to send it to a select few for feedback and play-testing. We already have a couple names on a list of play-testers but if you want to join in, just write to us at piousrot@gmail.com. What we’re looking for at that stage is:
feedback on how playable the setting would be with the TTRPG system you currently use (DnD, OSR, or something else)
which things in the setting you like the most / find most interesting
which things that you feel are missing from it or that you’d like to see more of
I’ll try to send everyone on this list a pdf copy of the first booklet next week so be on the lookout for that in your mailbox if you joined in!
Updated website

I have also made a couple of updates to our website to give more information on the setting and the content of the upcoming booklets and also just to make the whole thing look better and better convey the illustrative style we use in the books. When working on a world-building project like this one, I have a strong urge to make all parts of it feel as connected to the world as possible in order to stay immersed in the world no matter what part of it I’m working on.
Start of the work on the Central Plains
In addition to putting the finishing touches on the North booklet, we started fleshing out the writing and creating some illustrations for the next area: The Central Plains. These vast plains with rolling hills used to be some of the most fertile in Thiusland, cultivated by families of giants until the war against the gods came to them. The war brought devastation, fire and ruin to the crops and beasts of the plains, forcing the giants to retreat in a vast network of underground caves.
As I did for the previous area, I’ll be posting a new page / illustration every week on my patreon. If you want to follow along and support the process of creating and illustrating the world of Pious Rot I invite you to join it :)
